to professionals, students, and design-enthusiasts.

01 - 此次国际设计竞赛的主题:
‘奇妙的门设计’
we are looking for a timeless HOME INTERIOR door design, which takes
into account formal and technological innovation, its ease of use,
originality and practicality for manufacturing. a broad variety of materials
might be used: wood, metal, glass, plastics,...
02 – 奖项:
总共将有5位设计师获得如下将项:
- 第一名 5000 欧元
- 四名荣誉奖 / 每人 1000 欧元
入选的获胜者的作品若干,将在下一个意大利米兰设计周展出，时间是４月13 - 18日, 2005年.
COCIF undertakes, in the event that it uses for production one of the
designs submitted for the contest (wholly or in part), to pay a forfeit
fee of Euro 500 to purchase the rights for production on an exclusive basis
and sine die (without time limitations). in that case a royalty of 3% of
annual sales will also be paid.
and as always…
designboom will publish an exhaustive results report.

please don't send in vague concepts, but go a step further.
as COCIF wishes to produce some of the most interesting door projects,
please consider the feasibility of manufacturing.
- especially if your proposal is a high tech door or a door-art project -
the jury will award designs and concepts which are innovative
in terms of their formal / technological aspects as well as their functional ones.
projects should not be currently in production !

we invite you to use our new on-line publishing system
which allows all designers to publish their projects directly on our server,
making the jury process faster and more transparent.
as the designer, you can publish, verify and modify the lay-out of your page.
the new system will allow a larger number of designs to be visible to the
designboom public, thus giving designers greater visibility.
you will be requested to supply:
1 - up to 3 files (images or a composition of more images) of your project.
please note: use only .gif, .jpeg, (72 dpi) max 100 kb each file.
image size max 600 (width) x 700 (height) pixels.

is selected for the exhibition -
2 - explanation of ideas
a brief description of your work.
(english text only, explanation is expected to be concise)
3 - you will be requested to accept the competition guidelines
(competition guidelines:
projects participating to the competition, must be original works.
projects must be free from copyrights and any kind of obligation.
the design shall not in any way infringe any third party’s right,
including but not limited to copyright, logos, trademark, trade names,
or other proprietary rights of publicity or privacy.
only entries with a declaration of authorship are accepted !)

participants shall be liable for any damage caused to any third party's right,
including the aforementioned.

any moral and paternity right regarding the project sent in for
application is designer’s property.
however
by participating in the competition, the participant authorises COCIF
to option the exclusive use of all the shortlisted designs.
this option is valid until december 31, 2005.
COCIF undertakes, in the event that it uses for production one of the
designs submitted to the contest (wholly or in part), to pay a forfeit fee
of Euro 500 to purchase the rights for production on an exclusive basis
and sine die (without time limitations).
a royalty of 3% of annual sales will also be paid in this case.
the designer(s) of the winning project and the 4 honorable mentions cede
the exclusive rights to COCIF waiving compensation other than the award prize.
in this case a royalty of 3% of annual sales will be paid.
and,
by participating in the competition, all participants authorise designboom
and COCIF to publish and exhibit all the designs (including project data submitted)
– waiving compensation – at exhibitions and events and/or to use them in any
publications that the organizers may deem suitable and/or necessary.
10 - 司法权
all disputes arising out of/or in connection with the competition shall be settled
by the court of rimini (italy) which is deemed the only court of competent jurisdiction.
